Monique & Matthew | Shattuck Golf Club, Jaffrey, NH

While the romantic story starts at a high school basketball game, the history of Matt and Monique has roots much deeper. If you were to look at the Brock’s refrigerator you’d find a picture of Matt at age 2. A search through the Belletete’s old Christmas card collection would yield a number of pictures of Monique and her sisters. They grew up in neighboring towns, went to sports camps together, and shared mutual friends. Each would never admit to secretly admiring one another during childhood but in reality that was the case.

It was a Hoops for Hope, breast cancer awareness basketball game at ConVal High School, in February 2012, that would change the game forever. Matt was in the second semester of his freshman year at the University of New Haven and Monique was completing cosmetology school at Paul Mitchell’s partner school in Bedford, NH. The two started talking, this time as more than friends, and started dating soon after. The distance made their relationship unique but they found comfort in the memories they could share.

Four and half years later, Matt proposed to Monique at Nubble Lighthouse in York Beach, ME; a favorite vacation destination for both growing up.

Monique and Matt got married at the Shattuck Golf Club in Jaffrey, NH on June 24, 2017. The best of the day was when they exchanged their vows; since there was so much history between the two families, everyone was tearing up. This really was a long time coming, and you could feel the love all day.
